Wellness Care for Your Pet: Managing their long term well-being

Your pet can benefit greatly from regular wellness examinations or checkups. Whether your pet is a puppy or kitten, or a senior pet, wellness examinations provide an excellent opportunity for us to conduct a thorough physical examination and develop a health profile for your pet. This information will help us identify medical problems and any other issues that can affect your pet’s health and quality of life.

Preventing Illness, Disease, and Other Health Issues

A wellness examination includes an evaluation of all of your pet’s major organ systems. We’ll use the wellness visit to ask you questions about your pet’s behavior, appetite, exercise habits, and regular activities at home. This is also an excellent time for us to discuss any routine diagnostic testing that may benefit your pet or to recommend any vaccinations that may be due.

If your pet seems healthy, a wellness examination is a good opportunity to note any changes, such as weight gain or loss or other subtle changes that may not be evident at home. Sometimes, information obtained during a wellness examination can help detect early signs of illness and address health issues before they progress.

The Exam

First, we start with a physical exam to assess your pet’s outward health (and oral health) for any sign of problems. With every annual exam, we'll become more familiar with your pet.

Diagnostics

Next, we suggest blood and fecal testing to screen for parasites and diseases. This gives us a more complete picture of your pet’s overall condition and, if necessary, we can suggest treatment to help.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are another key aspect of your pet’s wellness care. Our veterinarians will always recommend vaccines that best suit your pet’s lifestyle, along with a schedule to keep them on track.

Education

With concern for your pet's health, collaboration is always key. During your visit, we'll answer any questions you have to ensure that we're both on the same page regarding their care.

What others say about our animal clinic...

Thank you to the staff of LCAC. I met Deb at the front desk 6 years ago when I moved here and she greeted me such enthusiasm and kindness. Yesterday I walked in with my 14 year old Samoyed to have the doctor “let him go peacefully.“ Deb greeted me with tears in her eyes and a huge hug. She loved on my dog Boots and told him to go play in heaven with her dog Beans. Dr. Myers came in and gently did what needed to done. It is always painful to say goodbye- but it was so much easier being there with this great group of caring people.

We love it here! My cat is a 12-year old demon that does not do well at the Veterinarians. The staff is patient, kind and gentle with her. This starts from scheduling our appointment later in the day so we can premedicate her to wrapping her in a blanket to draw her blood. This place is amazing. Your fur babies will love it.

The best veterinarians in the local area. We've used them for nearly 30 years and never been unhappy. They treat our four legged babies as if they were their own.

This is the first stop for me and my animals when I need the very best in care. I have used Dr. Gordon & Dr. Bradbury for over 40 years with no regrets what so ever. They are my A Team when I need the best of attention for my large & small animals. Thanks also for a great staff to deal with in your office, you are the best.

We love Dr. Laura! She really cares about her patients and shows it with her care and follow up. On several occasions, she has called to check up on our little guy! We are so happy to have Lenoir City Animal Clinic as our provider and, especially happy to have Dr. Laura as our dogs Veterinarian!!!
